In my life I have not always made the best choices when it comes to the foods that I put in my body. I would go for the things that taste good and that usually consisted of fatty or high sugar food. I have had my fair share of honey buns and Dr. Pepper. All those choices of unhealthy foods came back to bite me in the end. A few years ago I was in a very bad point in my life. I was at my heaviest weight and my energy levels were at an all time low. All the food I had eaten over the years had come to rest in all the places I didn't want them to. That was when I decided to make a change and begin a healthy lifestyle. I started change my eating habbits and noticed my energy coming back and the weight coming off. A major lesson I have learned is that what we eat not only affects my weight but my mood and energy as well. What I also learned is that those foods that are good for me and make me feel good as well are not easily found, that is why I am so excited to bring healthy foods in the convenience of a vending machine. Think Healthy! Eat Healthy! Live Healthy!

My journey with healthier foods and special dietary needs came at a young age. My first experience with having to change my eating habits came when I was 15. Diagnosed with a Cronic illness (RPGN), I had to change my eating habits in a effort to get better, sadly things did not workout that way. Shortly after, my illness got worst and I was Diagonsed with ESRD (my kidneys completly failed and I had to do Diaylisis). That Diet I remember the most partly because it would be almost a decade before a transplant, but also because of how strict the diet was. The Diet consisted of having to go Low Sodium, Low Phosporus, Low Potassium, and Low Protien (Not the best thing for a growing boy, but I would survive). Through the years I stayed many years in the hospital, I actually remember growing up in Childrens Hospital in New Orleans, then when I turned 20 I had to look for an adult Hospital, which was EJGH. During these years I was given TONS of diffrent medications to treat a handful of illness, but it seemed like I would just stay Cronically ill for the rest of my life. The medications I was taking  were a bit harmful at the same time, I ended up having side effects of the meds like bleeding Ulcers in my stomach, but the biggest thing I remember happening, was when the doctor told me that I had to go on a new diet! This diet? Gluten Free! The doctor diagnosied me with Celiac Spru, and the diet that went with his diagnoses was horrible! It seemed like all I could have was rice, corn, potato, and protiens. It was a complete culture shock! No more fast foods, resturant dinners, or snacks like Kit Kats, Sour Candy, Caramel, and other things that gave me joy through food. Thankfully that was the last major "diet" change I had to make in my life. Through the years I learned how to live my diet. And in the most recent years (2-3 yrs) the world is starting to become more aware of all the diffrent dietary needs. Though with all the progress, something I have never seen was a vending machine that caters to special dietary needs, or just having healthy things in them for that matter. Can you imagine all the years I spent in the hospital passing by vending machines (and I would sit sometimes and wish I was able to eat things that I just coldn't have anymore!) and yet the main place that is suppose to be there to help you is stocking stuff that was harmful for you! This is why I believe I can do some good here at Green Light Vending. I have such a unique experience with specail dietary needs, and a strong passion to change this in the world, and the one place I feel I can make the most of something is in a vending buisness.
